The City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the City, and is responsible for the administration of the City in accordance with the City Council policy and Charter requirements. The City Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the city's 13 departments.

The City Manager submits the city budget to Council each fiscal year and advises Council of future financial needs of the city. The City Manager is also responsible to appoint and remove all officers and employees of the city, subject to Civil Service provisions and the City Charter.
