"On the Fast Track"
The Planning Division is a team of seven dedicated employees working on
behalf of the City of Avondale to provide the residents, property owners,
developers, and visitors to the City with a high level of service in planning,
development review, and site inspections. The role of each planner is to assist in
the successful development of each project. We provide quality customer
service to our clients, open communication, implementation of alternatives and
solutions, and technical support to the City Council, Planning Commission, and
the Board of Adjustment regarding development proposals.

The planning team is an integral part of making the City of Avondale a beautiful place to live, work, play, and invest.  We are committed to accomplishing this goal through efficiency and the preparation of a variety of current and long-range plans that direct and guide residential, commercial, and industrial development.

As the Development Services Department continues to increase the levels of service delivery to our customers, client relations and plan review is at the top of the list.  Avondale's long term commitment to economic development remains stronger than ever as we increase our response times, and fast track projects through the planning, zoning, and permitting process.  Planners are available each day to review preliminary projects at the customer's convenience and provide feedback immediately.

The Development Services Department has equipped themselves with an experienced and dynamic technical development review team that is available to provide the highest level of service.  Led by a Project Manager/Planner - each project is provided the day-to-day interaction needed between the client and the City to keep the project moving.  The Project Manager works side by side with the client during the process from the pre-application meeting to Certificate of Occupancy.
