Owning a home is a big part of the American dream and the City of Avondale wants to help make that dream a reality. Avondale is a great place to live, work, and play!

Many potential homeowners do not realize that they can purchase a home with as little as 1% down.  Through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) down payment and closing cost assistance is available for the purchase of foreclosed homes. Additional funding is also available to address necessary repairs.

The NSP3 program is available to persons who are able to qualify for a mortgage and whose household income does not exceed 120% of the HUD Area Median Income, adjusted for household size.

Very low interest rates and home prices make this a perfect time to buy.  There is an abundance of newer homes that have fallen into foreclosure within Avondale in the $80,000 to $170,000 range.

Interested buyers must complete the program application/intake process with the City’s partner agency, Neighborhood Housing Services, meet with a HUD certified housing counselor and attend an 8-hour homebuyer education class. This process is designed to help you through the entire home buying process.
